Simply superb. You could wait a long time for a story like this (and, let’s be honest, I did). Exquisitely weighted, it fills eleven spare pages with an autopsy and a requiem and, finally, a tortured but triumphant humanity. I suspect I will have to read much more Ford.

  1. Yes, yes you do need to read more Ford. A great and sadly much underrated writer and not a one trick pony like so many better known sf writers.
