So Song Of Time by Ian R MacLeod has won the 2009 Arthur C Clarke Award which means I wasn’t too far off. Congratulations to him, although I’m sure it is as tedious as his other work. (I did not, of course, discover this news through poor, ignored SF Crowsnest.)

  2. With you mostly on MacLeod: ‘The Light Ages’ bored me to great gushes of tears. But ‘The Summer Isles’ is very well put together. Do we have to fight about this?

  5. I thought Niall has no leg to stand on when it comes to required reading, or was there a gentlemen’s agreement not to mention the books he has yet to read?
