My review of Watchmen : that Zack Snyder closes the film with My Chemical Romance’s cover of Desolation Row tells you everything you need to know about his filmmaking sensibility.

  1. I would have said scoring a sex scene with a dodgy live version of Hallelujah told you everything you need to know about his sensitivity but apparently that was the point:

Originally Zack Snyder used a recording of the song by Allison Crowe for this controversial scene, but decided Crowe’s version was “too romantic” and “too sexy” for a scene that is intended to come across as ironic and “ridiculous”. Snyder ended up placing a Cohen live version in this scene.
