Reminds me of &#039;Star Trek: the Next Generation&#039;, a series for which I still have an inexplicable fondness but now hilarious in its unconscious, po-faced hypocrisy. And I&#039;m not just talking about that whole Kling-on/Black/Noble Savage shite, but episodes like &#039;The Outcast&#039; - a defence of homosexuality/lesbianism etc  so convoluted and opaque that I wonder what your average eleven-year-old made of it. Especially if he - or she - was your average gay eleven-year-old.]]></description>

I&#039;ve now read &lt;i&gt;Pure&lt;/i&gt; and it is bloody awful - the literary equivalent of one of those X-Factor contests who is blissfully unaware that they are singing out of key. &lt;i&gt;vN&lt;/i&gt; will be next up as there doesn&#039;t been to be a paperback of &lt;i&gt;The Method&lt;/i&gt; on the horizon.]]></description>
